They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and you may remember from Mehrak + Mohammad’s engagement shoot at Tiffany & Co. that this notion proved to be true! We actually shot their friends’ wedding in the summer of 2011, which was a gorgeous Persian wedding. We had such a fantastic time at Asal and Amir’s wedding that we couldn’t help but count down the days until Mehrak + Mohammad’s special day arrived. This beautiful couple was destined for an ultra chic wedding!
From Calvin Klein and bow ties to Vera Wang and diamonds, Mehrak + Mohammad were dressed to the nines for their amazing Persian wedding. Typically, a wedding is filled with people who come to celebrate the bride and groom. While this was true on their wedding day, the real celebration was between the couple. It seemed that every time we snapped a photo throughout their outdoor canopied ceremony they were sharing a secret laugh, exuberant glee or peaceful contentment in each others arms.
We took their wedding portraits and bridal party photos in Unionville. They made our jobs incredibly easy as their excitement took over and created perfect shots. Mehrak’s rosy bouquet kept drawing our lens to it. It offered a subtle pop of colour with its orange, cream and pink tones which played beautifully with the bride and groom’s striking features and Unionville’s muted backdrops.
The reception was a blast, full of lively Persian music that kept the dance floor packed all night long. Their silver and white cake was awe-inspiring with not one, not three, but five tiers of dragée-laced confection! The rest of the food was just as incredible, offering lots of eye candy for our cameras. The night held toasts, the bouquet toss and more dancing!
