Puttin’ on the Ritz | Eglinton Grand, Toronto

There are some couples who jump right into the adventure of marriage and take on the world as it comes speeding toward them, for better or for worse! Then there are those couples who allow their relationship to develop like a fine wine before heading to the altar, which was the case with Andrea + Daniel. While their families were impatiently waiting for the duo to wed, they were busy strengthening their bond. Flash forward quite some time later and they were ready to show everyone what their years of love and care had created.

We first met the wonderful Colasanto family when Andrea’s sister, Natalie, was planning her own wedding a few years back. We shot Natalie and Ernie’s wedding in 2008. It was so nice to see and catch up with her and her husband, along with their sweet little 2 year old daughter, Sophia. They’re actually expecting their second child later this year. We’re so happy for them!

Andrea + Daniel were married on a perfect summer’s day at St. David’s Catholic Church in Maple, Ontario. The weather was absolutely amazing, almost as amazing as Andrea’s strapless Lazaro gown and Christian Louboutin pumps. Her lovely Pnina Tornai headpiece had everyone, including darling Sophia, staring in awe.

Avenue Flower created the most beautiful orange bouquets for the bridesmaids and a gorgeous white rose bouquet for the bride. They also provided stylish boutonnieres for the men! Even the flower girl, sweet little Sophia, held tight to a pretty ball bouquet and a rosary.

After the beautiful and touching ceremony, we photographed the wedding party at the University of Toronto, St. Mary’s Arch and Victoria College. We also took a series of fun photos along Eglinton Avenue and outside and under The Eglinton Grand’s iconic marquee. Andrea + Daniel’s friends were wonderful to work with – everyone was so much fun!

We headed into The Eglinton Grand (formerly The Eglinton Theatre) for the reception. The building had such a cool art deco visual appeal and made for some spectacular photos! We found the speeches especially touching at this wedding. The bridesmaids were more than just sisters – they were best friends! The Alma Quartet entertained everyone with fabulous tunes throughout dinner, and then encouraged dancing late into the night!

Thank you, Andrea + Daniel, for sharing this amazing day with us!
