Ashley + Matt were a very sweet couple to work with! Ashley works in politics and Matt is in consulting – such serious jobs; yet, they had a fun and carefree wedding day which really let their personalities shine!
The girls spent the morning clicking glasses and sipping champagne, adorning each other with jewelry and posing for beautiful photos; whereas the boys shared their love of golf with the camera.
The ceremony at The Toronto Hunt Club was veiled in sentiment, as it was the same wedding venue that Ashley’s parents had used 35 years before. The morning had verged on disaster with a rainy storm predicted, but luckily the sun came out just in time to allow guests to find their seats on the grass near the chapel.
Ashley’s brother, Chris, walked her down the aisle. She was radiant in her classic lace gown with its perfectly matching bolero and pretty bow-laced shoes (she was reminiscent of Grace Kelly). Her bouquet of cream and lavender was subtly complimented by the bridesmaids’ pale pink off-the-shoulder dresses.
The couple said their vows by the cliff, which made us feel as though their love had been carried to the edge of the world. They made a special gesture to Ashley’s mom by presenting her with a beautiful rose during the ceremony. It was all so heartfelt and perfect in every way.
The reception was also held at The Toronto Hunt Club. Due to Ashley + Matt’s love of travel, they named each reception table after a destination that they had been to together. It was a fun way to showcase their great adventures!
A dear friend of the bride and groom sang “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole for their first dance. It is such a classic song and left many onlookers with misty eyes. Matt’s groomsmen then gave an amazing speech, complete with a fantastic Powerpoint presentation and slideshow!
Music was provided by an impressive jazz trio and then Ashley and Matt’s friend, DJ Michel, really got the party started. We were able to witness and capture great moments derived from the infamous MacKenzie Slide and Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean”!
We’d like to give an extra special “thank you” to Samantha and Pete (past clients who wed in 2008) who referred Ashley + Matt to us.
