Waterfall Vows | Ancaster Mill Wedding

It’s always nice to hear love stories that started in the work place. There’s that old saying, “Don’t dip your pen in the company ink”, but we’ve found that couples who’ve met at work have strong foundations because they share a like passion. Darelle + Terry took this theory to new heights by not only meeting at work five years ago, but by working in a profession that helps others. They’re hardworking paramedics with big hearts and lots of compassion!

Darelle prepped for her big day with her beautiful bridesmaids. All but one of the bridesmaids had known each other since they were little girls. The newer addition to the group of friends was Terry’s sister, Hope. The ladies sipped chilled Pinot Grigio as they helped each other into floor length After Six aubergine and gold gowns. While the colours matched perfectly, the styling of each gown differed ever so slightly for a fun effect when the entire bridal party stood together.

Darelle gifted her girls with gorgeous gold bangles that matched her own, and then proceeded to don her elegant wedding gown by Mikaella 1406. It was absolutely timeless with its strapless sweetheart neckline and delicately feathered rosettes. Darelle polished her look with an unexpected pop from her Nine West gold glitter peep toe heels, J. Crew pearl drop vintage earrings and a lovely vintage multi-strand bracelet.

While his bride was enjoying her time with the girls, the groom’s nerves were getting the best of him. He knew that he was about to see the most beautiful woman in the world walk toward him because she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him, and it became wonderfully overwhelming! It wasn’t long before all nervousness melted away when Terry saw the bridesmaids make their entrance. It was as if the Earth stood still and all became well as soon as he saw Darelle appear before him!

The guests enjoyed all of the hard work that Darelle and her mother put into the little details of the wedding. They knew that loved ones from as far as Australia would be attending, so they wanted everything to be perfect! As anticipated, the day was hot and the handheld fans left of the seats were much appreciated by everyone watching the ceremony at the Ancaster Mill. The shade from the trees overhead helped in making the ambiance not only comfortable, but sweet and intimate as well. The wedding party stood under a flower-laced canopy as Darelle + Terry said their “I do’s” and became husband and wife.

Before the reception found itself in full swing, we stole a few moments to get the group photos by the gorgeous falls near the outdoor chapel. Everything about this group of people and the location they chose was happy and serene. You couldn’t help but feel the love in the air!

The reception was in the Governor’s Room and offered a wonderful atmosphere for celebrating the bride and groom with champagne and delicious food. Florist Jane Rivers created a magical display of creamy roses with splashes of green, and the heartfelt toasts had everyone smiling from ear to ear.

Thank you so much, Darelle + Terry, for sharing your incredible summer wedding with us!
