You might be wondering why you’re looking at a fashion preview on a wedding photography blog. Fret not, this is just one of our gorgeous couples, Danna + Michael, and their fashionable wedding party! Yes, there really are people who look as though they’ve stepped straight out of a magazine spread as they walk and talk amongst one another!
Danna spent the morning getting ready in the Royal Suite at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto. The special room was classically beautiful with a lounge room, two bedrooms, a boardroom and several bathrooms for the bridesmaids to prepare in. *Fun fact – this is where the Queen stays while visiting Toronto!
Since Danna’s favourite colour is purple, she laced her entire wedding in shades of the colour. Her bridesmaids’ dresses were a rich purple, the bridesmaids’ look was completed with purple bracelets that Danna gave them early in the day, her lovely bouquet was flitted with tiny flowers in deep plum and Michael gave her a purple Gucci toiletry set! There were so many fun elements to apply this colourful touch to.
The ceremony took place on a sunny day in the Grand Ballroom of the hotel. Danna walked down the aisle in a breathtaking mermaid style gown that was dressed with feathers and jewels. She looked like a dream as she made her way to the altar with a huge smile on her veil-framed face. The ceremony was very sweet, especially because her young son, Antonio, was one of Michael’s groomsmen. Antonio wore purple socks, a sweet gesture for his mom!
Everyone moved to the Imperial Room of the Royal York Hotel for the reception, where Danna traded her long veil for a short and feathered birdcage fascinator. She and Michael danced their first dance to a slow, romantic version of Rhianna’s “Umbrella”. In fact, the bride and groom both love to dance so much that their friends and family treated them to more dancing between every course throughout the evening!
Danna was a supremely happy bride and offered lots of humour as she practically dove for her cake, posed with her son and sipped champagne with her friends. She and Michael were so wonderful to work with!
