White Lace and Doves | The Venetian

You may remember Julia (Woolnough) Black from HGTV, whose wedding we photographed back in 2008 at the Toronto Hunt Club. She recently referred a wonderfully outgoing couple to us: Adriana + Sal.

Adriana + Sal dated for 6 years and were engaged for 2 years before they tied the knot. They are dearly loved by all their friends and family, so everyone was thrilled to spend the day celebrating their love!

We started off by photographing the bride and groom’s final preparations. Sal got ready at his house in Markham, while Adriana got ready at her parents’ house. Her mother was over-the-moon excited seeing as how Adriana is her one and only daughter. She was ecstatic as she and the bridesmaids helped Adriana slip into the exquisite crystal-laced gown and sparkling silver Manolo Blahnik shoes.

The ceremony at St. Patrick’s Church in Markham was beautiful — albeit hot – it was truly one of the hottest wedding days that we’ve ever experienced! The temperature didn’t faze the couple one bit, and Adriana actually looked radiant in the heat. She couldn’t stop smiling as she gazed at her handsome groom in his black tux and bow tie. The groomsmen, all deemed “Bestmen” since Sal had known them all his life, were dressed in grey suits with blue striped ties. The bridesmaids matched in lovely navy blue dresses.

The ceremony concluded with an epic surprise from Adriana’s mother. Knowing that her daughter has a great love of birds, she arranged for white doves to be released outside the church. It was a beautiful gesture for the couple, and a beautiful aesthetic for our cameras!

The reception featured an amazing guitarist that Adriana and Sal had become enthralled with while at a friend’s wedding. His name is Chris Iaoannou and he plays in a band called Little Creatures. After reveling in his talent, they asked him to play at their wedding. He captured their personalities so well with his authentic and romantic songs. After a few covers of their favourite ballads, he played “Pretty Little Adriana” by Vince Gill for the Father/Daughter dance. It was so sweet and perfect! In addition to Chris Iaoannou, Digitial Entertainment kept the dance floor full of happy dancers throughout the night.

We had the pleasure of working alongside the talented crew from Zero Digital, who captured the day in true cinematic style. It’s not surprising that they had a fantastic videographer present since Sal earns a living in video editing!

Every aspect of the ceremony and the reception was perfect, and we feel so lucky to have been a part of it all. Congratulations, Adriana + Sal!
