Wedding photographers have a love-hate relationship with sunsets. It’s rare that they turn out as good as we hope.
When I found out that Nikala’s ceremony was taking place at 7 pm and that they didn’t want to see each other beforehand, I immediately panicked. Yikes - all of the photos will take place afterwards in risky lighting. So now we were at the mercy of the sun.
However, what I didn’t realize is that Nikala had the perfect wedding day planned The lighting turned out to be as good as it gets. As we walked out of the small cozy chapel on the grounds, the sky was clear and the sun was bursting over the buildings from the west.
The day started out the same perfect way. Just down the street, the girls were buzzing around getting ready as Morgan Inniss, Nicole Richards and Milena Iaizzo worked their magic on the hair and makeup. The guys, on the other hand, decided to play some pick-up basketball in the main gym, a place where they likely spent a lot of time as members of this school.
Nikala wore a Monique Lhuillier
The ceremony was another impeccable setting, as that amazing sunlight continued to pour through all the side windows. The after poses in this stunning backdrop were a romantically perfect way for them to start this new adventure together. After the photos we hurried back inside to the roar of the crowd and the party had just begun.
St Andrew’s College is a very unique venue for a wedding, with all of its character and beauty. With the impressive creative flair of Nikala’s new mother in law, the pair brought her dream wedding to fruition. Malvina and her team at Fabulous Occasions did an amazing job of ensuring everything ran smoothly. The evening was spent with many toasts to the newlyweds along with a memorable singing performance for the first dance, by Nikala’s sister Trisha.
Congratulations, Nikala + Oliver and thank you for sharing your day with us!
